Story:
Rakesh Maria (Nana Patekar) deposes in front of the enquiry commission brought in to get a full detailed report of the attacks which shook Mumbai on 26/11. He recalls the horrifying time when a group of terrorists fully trained and heavily armed entered Mumbai through sea route. One among them was Ajmal Kasab (Sanjeev Jaiswal) who was captured alive. The story revolves around the time between 9.30 pm and 1 am wherein attacks took place at Mumbai CST, Cama Hospital, Taj Hotels etc. and how Kasab got hanged in the end.

Analysis:
From a creative point of view, it is rather easy to cook up a story and bring it onto celluloid but when you are dealing with real life subjects there are many challenges. As a director, he must ensure that whatever is being told onscreen matches to what exactly happened. At the same time, there must also be that right kind of emotion and the sensibility for the audience to get transported into the past and become a witness to the incidents that have happened. All these challenges have been taken bravely by Ram Gopal Varma and the good news is, this time he has come out with flying colors. After a very long gap and a string of merciless duds, RGV bounced back with a vengeance. He was impeccable with his screenplay, he was masterly with his cinematography, the dialogues were written with the right maturity and sensibility, the script was hard hitting with the tight grip over the emotional quotient. The moment the film takes off, one is taken to a different plane and there is not much time to waste because the action begins. This is a known story so one can expect easily what is going to come but despite that familiarity the film has enough energy and captivating moments which can make anyone feel the goosebump experience. The interval bang was something not to be missed. The second half is equally on a high dose of adrenaline and there are minimum three to four scenes which get implanted into the brains and hearts of the viewers. Though it is a well known story throughout the audience it still has enough ammunition to strike it big at the box office.

India Bells Judgement:
Raw, realistic and spellbinding, must watch
